About the role
The Diet Aide I supports the hospital’s food service operations by ensuring patient and cafeteria trays, utensils, and dishware are clean and properly sanitized. This position also involves delivering meals to patient areas and assisting with basic food preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and air‑dry dishes, pots, and pans according to assignment.
- Deliver patient meals promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Assemble patient trays according to the menu.
- Complete temperature and cleaning logs for sanitation compliance.
- Maintain neat and organized work areas and equipment.
Required profile
- High school education or equivalent preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
- Up to 3 months of food‑service experience, on‑the‑job training acceptable.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, perform simple math, and lift up to 40 lb.
- Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, and exposure to kitchen conditions.
