Diagnostics Software Engineer

About the role

Join Trane Technologies as a Diagnostics Software Engineer, contributing to sustainable climate solutions for buildings, homes and transportation. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of HVAC and data‑science experts to create algorithms that detect issues in residential HVAC systems using sensor and performance data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms for fault detection in residential HVAC equipment.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure for processing large IoT data sets.
• Adapt existing algorithms to evolving software architectures and platforms.
• Validate algorithm performance through automated testing and extensive data analysis.
• Collaborate with local and remote software teams to integrate and deploy solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Interact with customers, technicians, dealers, and homeowners to support product development and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience designing and implementing real‑world software solutions.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices.
