Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and work with a collaborative team providing world‑class imaging services. You will perform sonographic examinations for patients of all ages, supporting physicians in diagnosis and care planning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound studies (obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, small parts, pediatric, vascular, etc.) using high‑frequency sound waves.
• Consult with referring physicians, review patient history, and select appropriate equipment and protocols.
• Educate patients about procedures, ensure comfort and safety, and manage scheduling of routine and emergency exams.
• Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS; complete after‑hours transmission and related paperwork.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintain ultrasound equipment, and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
• Assist with clinical instruction of students, residents, and new caregivers; demonstrate equipment use.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in good standing.
• Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or ARRT at hire.
• At least one certification in abdominal, OB/GYN, or vascular sonography; remaining certifications within 18 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ultrasound imaging equipment and handheld probes.
• Experience using PACS and RIS for image management and billing.
• Ability to perform patient education and ensure safety during exams.
• Equipment troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
