Diagnostic Laboratory Specialist 3

About the role

The Diagnostic Laboratory Specialist 3 performs bench‑level diagnostic testing in the Endocrinology Laboratory, handling clinical specimens from all animal species and supporting animal patient care and public health.

Key responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate, document, and report diagnostic tests in Endocrinology, following established SOPs and quality assurance standards.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, conduct quality control and routine maintenance, and manage inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Provide cross‑trained support to other LSU Diagnostics sections (Serology, Bacteriology, Virology) as needed.
• Communicate test results and specimen requirements to submitters and consult with supervisors on abnormal findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 3 years of related diagnostic laboratory experience.
• Ability to work independently and follow standard operating procedures, maintaining accuracy and compliance with AAVLD accreditation.

• Bench‑level diagnostic testing in endocrinology and related laboratory techniques.
