Diabetes Education Program Manager

About the role

The Diabetes Education Program Manager will lead and coordinate all activities of the Diabetes Education Program across the Rio Grande Valley’s four‑county service area. Reporting to the Director, the manager ensures high‑quality health education, outreach, and compliance with American Diabetes Association standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day program operations, including inventory, supplies, and clinical activities.
• Supervise program staff, student assistants, and clinicians, maintaining regular meetings and performance evaluations.
• Develop and deliver diabetes self‑management classes, nutrition counseling, and community presentations.
• Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to support program effectiveness and grant acquisition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least five years of professional experience with staff supervision in a health setting.
• State license and American Dietetic Association registration (RD/LDN); CDCES certification preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with a valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software for reporting.
• Ability to manage social media and marketing activities for program outreach.
