DevSecOps Lead Engineer (AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps)

About the role

CACI is looking for a DevSecOps Lead Engineer to own the health, security and ongoing state of its AWS cloud environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for a small team, acting as the primary technical point of contact for infrastructure, automation and secure software delivery. The position is remote (any state) and requires up to 10% local travel.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and Helm-packaged workloads in production
• Own and manage the AWS environment end-to-end: provisioning, configuration, drift detection, cost and security posture, with infrastructure defined and version-controlled in Terraform
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and run ArgoCD for GitOps-based continuous deployment
• Write and maintain Python tooling and automation for infrastructure and operations
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for the team and program on infrastructure, DevOps and security
• Embed security across the lifecycle: secrets management, least-privilege IAM, vulnerability scanning, policy-as-code and compliance controls
• Advise on integrating LLM/AI tooling and workflows where they add value
• Mentor team members on infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes and CI/CD best practices

Required profile

• 7+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure or SRE roles
• Deep, hands-on AWS expertise at production scale (compute, networking, IAM, storage)
• Ability to act as the senior/primary technical resource for a small team
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
• Working knowledge of LLM/AI concepts (model deployment, prompting, RAG, cost/latency trade-offs) to guide engineering decisions
