It is looking for an early-career Development Specialist, a fundraising professional with strong writing and editing skills who thrives on collaboration. The role reports to the Associate Director of Development, works closely with program team members and coordinates with the Regional Executive Director. It is fully remote and open to candidates based in Washington State.

- Grant project management and collaboration (about 30%): manage the grants calendar, track requirements and timelines in Asana, help prepare meeting agendas and materials, enter and maintain grant and donor data in Salesforce, run recurring pipeline and grant status reports, and communicate grant requirements to leadership and finance.
- Donor stewardship and acknowledgement (about 20%): ensure gifts and grants are thanked promptly and personally, prepare materials for stewardship meetings, join select funder meetings, and draft follow-up applications and communications.
Required profile
- About two to three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development or a related role where writing was regular.
- Commitment to equity in opportunities and outcomes for children, with recognition of race, ethnicity, language and socioeconomic status.
- Experience supporting grant proposals, reports, compliance or donor stewardship, even if not leading them (preferred).
Required skills
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to turn information into clear narratives.
- Project management skills and comfort working with data.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Preferred: experience with Salesforce or another donor database, and familiarity with Asana, Canva and similar tools.
What we offer
- Annualized compensation of $70,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) with match, and paid time off.
- Overtime pay eligibility under Washington State law.
- Occasional local travel and three to five overnight trips per year (less than 5% of the time).
