Development Officer – Fundraising & Donor Relations

About the role

The Development Officer will lead donor stewardship and cultivate relationships with individual and corporate supporters for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana. This relationship‑driven fundraising position focuses on connecting donors’ interests with the organization’s mission to support families in need.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the donor stewardship program, creating personalized recognition and engagement initiatives.
• Build and manage a portfolio of mid‑level and major‑gift donors through calls, meetings, tours, and impact communications.
• Identify new prospects, develop cultivation strategies, and secure gifts aligned with organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with board members, volunteers, staff, and marketing to tell compelling impact stories.
• Maintain accurate donor activity and pipeline data in Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management, or a related field.
• Proven ability to build trust, manage multiple relationships, and follow through on commitments.
• Strong communication skills with the capacity to convey organizational impact.
• Emotional intelligence, empathy, and professionalism in donor interactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT donor management software.
• Experience using CRM platforms for donor tracking and engagement.
