Designer III – Aircraft Structure Repair

About the role

The Designer III supports Airbus' airline in‑service fleet by creating high‑quality repair solutions for aircraft structures. Working on the Wichita State University innovation campus, you will collaborate with static stress, fatigue and other engineering teams to deliver certified repairs for airlines and MROs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop integrated, certified repair solutions for metallic and non‑metallic aircraft parts within defined timeframes.
• Interpret damage reports, create or modify repair instructions, drawings and technical communications using Airbus applications.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, F&DT and other departments to optimise solutions and ensure airworthiness.
• Provide clear guidance on repair queries to internal and external customers.
• Identify and support local process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate of Science degree in Engineering Technology (or higher) with focus on structural design.
• Minimum eight years of design experience with airframe structures.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong analytical skills, self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 and/or 3DExperience.
• MS Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
• Technical documentation creation (repair instructions, drawings, dispositions).
• Knowledge of repair and maintenance documentation (SRM, NTM, IPC).
