Deputy Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation Administrator

About the role
The Deputy Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Administrator provides strategic and operational leadership for the intake, assessment, and resolution of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters at Fresno State. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Compliance and Civil Rights, this senior leader ensures timely, equitable, and policy‑compliant responses to all reports.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee initial review, preliminary inquiry, jurisdictional assessment, and case determination for all DHR reports.
- Manage complex case processes from intake through outcome, including issuance of formal notices.
- Ensure investigative quality, compliance with CSU policies, and applicable federal and state laws.
- Serve as a visible campus resource and trusted point of contact for students, employees, administrators, and partners.
- Collaborate with university stakeholders to address discrimination‑related concerns and maintain compliance.
- Maintain a regular on‑campus presence to conduct intake meetings, inquiries, and case discussions.
Required profile
- In‑depth knowledge of federal and California laws related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
- Familiarity with CSU DHR policies, Title VI, and civil‑rights compliance principles.
- Experience with case management systems and investigative processes.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive, complex matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong leadership and communication skills for interacting with diverse campus constituencies.
Required skills
What we offer
- Salary range $85,000 – $95,000 per year.
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, CalPERS retirement, paid holidays, sick and vacation time.
- Eligibility for fee‑waiver education program.
- Hybrid work arrangement: primarily onsite with one remote day per week.
