Department Manager IV – Florida Cancer Research

About the role

The Department Manager IV will lead the Cancer Research Program across multiple Florida sites, overseeing clinical trial administration, budgets, compliance, and workflow improvements. This full‑time position is based at Florida Weston Hospital with regular travel to Martin and Indian River hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage department personnel, staffing, training, workflow analysis and performance management.
• Oversee administration of approximately 90 clinical research projects, expanding to over 120 across three sites.
• Monitor quality and financial performance, ensuring compliance with government health regulations, JCAHO guidelines and quality standards.
• Develop and implement cost‑saving strategies, process enhancements and customer service programs.
• Coordinate scheduling, budgeting, regulatory compliance and post‑award activities for clinical trials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or related field with six years supervisory/management experience, OR Master’s degree with five years experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly by phone and in person, and meet physical requirements such as extended periods of sitting, standing and occasional lifting up to 25 lb.
