Dental Hygiene Instructor

About the role

The Savannah Technical College Dental Hygiene program seeks a dedicated full‑time instructor to lead classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction on the Savannah campus. Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences and the Department Head, you will shape the curriculum and mentor future dental hygiene professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, labs and clinical supervision using effective teaching methods.
• Develop lesson plans, curricula, syllabi, goals and objectives for all dental hygiene courses.
• Assess student performance, graduate outcomes and employer feedback to evaluate course effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and student accountability.
• Coordinate cooperative work‑experience programs and manage advisory committee activities.
• Ensure compliance with regional and national dental hygiene accreditation standards.
• Participate in college committees, faculty meetings and professional development events.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, job placement and equipment/supply management.

Required profile

• Relevant dental hygiene degree and appropriate state licensure.
• Experience in dental hygiene practice and/or education.
• Ability to develop and evaluate curriculum and assessments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for interaction with students, faculty and external partners.
