Demand Planning Manager

About the role

The Demand Planning Manager will lead regional demand planning, aligning commercial, supply, and finance teams to deliver accurate forecasts and optimal inventory levels. This hybrid role requires 60% on‑site presence in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly S&OP demand review, integrating statistical forecasts with cross‑functional inputs.
• Own KPI governance (forecast accuracy, bias, supplier OTIF, inventory) and drive corrective actions.
• Embed AI and machine‑learning tools for predictive, exception‑based planning.
• Resolve supply‑demand imbalances, optimize safety stocks, and reduce working capital.
• Coach and develop a team of demand planners, fostering digital fluency and analytical rigor.

Required profile

• 7+ years progressive demand planning experience in consumer or industrial goods.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree or APICS/ASCM certification preferred.
• Proven ability to lead S&OP/IBP cycles for portfolios > $500M.
• 3–5 years direct people‑management experience.

Required skills

• Advanced SAP S/4 HANA and planning tools (e.g., Maestro, Blue Yonder).
• AI forecasting engines, demand‑sensing, Generative AI for scenario modeling.
• Data analysis with Python/R, SQL, Power Query, DAX, Excel.
• BI visualization using Power BI or Tableau.
