Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a delivery driver who makes deliveries to customers using a company-provided or rental vehicle. The driver also keeps delivery records, inspects and maintains the delivery vehicles and handles customer service on order and delivery issues. The position requires driving a company or rental vehicle, which may happen during the average work week, and the company monitors Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs); an acceptable MVR and a valid driver's license are required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders safely within the service area, following the planned route and traffic laws while dealing with customers on order issues.
• Load inventory into trucks and unload orders at customer sites using powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
• Review order manifests to make sure orders and daily routes are complete and accurate.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections in line with DOT regulations and company policy.
• Maintain routine contact with the distribution center about delivery interruptions such as traffic or missing orders, and prepare and maintain vehicle and order records.
• Contact customers to update them on delivery status and give management feedback on escalated customer service and sales issues.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR status.
• Preferred: 1+ years operating material handling equipment, no more than 2 minor accidents or moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Preferred: experience delivering merchandise with a box truck or similar vehicle, wholesale distribution experience, and 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; specialized skills training or certification may be required.
