About the role

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is hiring Deferred Assignment Child Protection Specialists to investigate reports of alleged child abuse and neglect. The role focuses on assessing immediate safety and initiating protective actions within mandated time limits.

Key responsibilities

Receive and investigate child abuse/neglect reports, ensuring timely intake and assessment.
Determine the immediate safety of children and recommend appropriate protection measures.
Document investigations thoroughly and maintain case files in compliance with state regulations.
