Day Maintenance - Union, Maintenance

About the role

Olympia Entertainment is looking for a self-motivated, knowledgeable individual to join its maintenance department. The person supports the maintenance of Little Caesars Arena's amenities and properties as assigned. This is an hourly position covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between SEIU Local 1 and Olympia Entertainment, open to working days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• General maintenance and upkeep of Little Caesars Arena, including venue amenities, debris removal and day-to-day facility support
• Support operational needs for events at Little Caesars Arena, Belfor Training Center and as assigned
• Perform general maintenance, housekeeping/custodial and building tasks
• Maintain operations equipment, including cleaning, handheld and utility equipment
• Help maintain glass, netting and dasher walls for ice-related events
• Operate and control some equipment and interface with customers, colleagues and guests
• Work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Take part in environmental services and recycling programs
• Inventory control of supplies, materials and equipment; other duties may be assigned as needed

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Broad knowledge of materials, methods, tools and safety precautions for building amenities; public assembly preferred
• Ability to work indoors, outdoors and in an office, in various weather conditions, and to lift 50 pounds and move large items
• Ability to work at heights greater than 25 feet
• Ability to work in extreme heat and cold, and to work well with others

Required skills

• General knowledge of building repairs and safe use of shop and hand tools
• Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift and boom lift; certification or ability to become certified required
