Data Scientist (Journeyman and Senior)

About the role

CACI is hiring Data Scientists at Journeyman and Senior levels to support a mission-focused program delivering analytical, advisory and operational capabilities across geographic and functional Combatant Commands. The role applies data science, statistical analysis, automation and emerging technologies to operational challenges in the information environment and irregular warfare (IW) mission space, working with intelligence, operations, research and technology professionals. Applications are needed on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to establish baselines, identify patterns and trends, develop indicators and support operational decisions.
• Develop and automate analytic workflows using Python, R and related tools.
• Apply statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, sampling, longitudinal and network analysis, and reliability/validity assessment.
• Build prototypes, scripts and tools that improve data collection, processing, integration, visualization and synthesis.
• Apply AI/ML and NLP to text, surveys, social media and operational reports, and conduct thematic coding, classification and sentiment analysis.
• Create dashboards and analytical products for operational leaders and stakeholders.
• Integrate findings with intelligence and operational reporting, and manage datasets, databases, metadata and longitudinal data.
• Use geospatial analysis and social media data to assess information environment dynamics and operational effects.
• Support research and assessment design, and collaborate across intelligence, operations, technology and research functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or another quantitative discipline.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• 3+ years of quantitative, qualitative, statistical or data science analysis in operational, intelligence, research or similar complex environments; level set by education, experience and expertise.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification within 90 days of hire if required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to explain technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Python and/or R for analysis, automation and modeling.
• Statistical methods such as regression, hypothesis testing, clustering, classification and predictive modeling.
• Structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, and data visualization and dashboarding.
• Data management practices and integration of quantitative findings with operational and intelligence information.

Desired qualifications

• Prior support of DoD, IC, COCOM or national security missions, and experience with OIE, IW, information operations or operational assessments.
• Machine learning, NLP pipelines, generative AI, automated data collection, web scraping, APIs or social media analytics.
• Geospatial tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas) and visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Plotly).
• MOPs, MOEs and MOEIs, research design, survey analysis, and experience in classified environments (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).

The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately; the proposed pay range is $82,100-$172,400.
