Data Platform Engineer

About the role

Macquarie's Data Services team is hiring a Data Platform Engineer in Houston. The team brings together engineering, data science and analytics to build products that help trading teams make informed decisions and improve business operations. As a Data Engineer, you will develop and maintain data products across cloud infrastructure automation, data-ingestion pipelines, APIs, query engines and orchestration platforms, contributing to technical strategy and taking ownership of delivery in a flat engineering structure.

Required profile

• A strong DevOps and software-engineering background, with experience solving problems and building automation in data and cloud environments.
• Hands-on Python development and testing experience, with exposure to cloud technology; AWS experience is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of Linux/Unix hosting platforms; EKS and container experience is viewed favourably.
• Understanding of databases, data lakes, query engines, SQL and DDLs.
• High attention to detail, with a consistent focus on data quality, code quality and reliable delivery.
