Platform Engineer - Python

About the role

Macquarie is hiring a Platform Engineer (Python) in Houston for its Cyber Security Operations Centre Technology and Innovation team. You will manage, enhance and automate security platforms that support the detection, investigation and containment of cyber threats, working at the intersection of security engineering, platform strategy and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security platform infrastructure and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Build automated processes that improve platform reliability, scalability and operational performance.
• Work with security analysts, engineers, technology teams and vendors to strengthen cyber security operations.
• Help assess and integrate emerging capabilities in security orchestration, threat intelligence, user behaviour analytics and AI-driven solutions.
• Support continuous delivery practices, maintain platform health and performance, and deliver against challenging timelines while managing stakeholder expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience engineering, integrating, automating and supporting enterprise technology platforms, with a focus on reliability, scalability and performance.
• Experience developing infrastructure-as-code solutions and automation capabilities.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and implementing modern engineering practices for secure, continuous delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across technical disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, with the ability to solve complex technical challenges through automation.
• Infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
