About the role
TensorWave is seeking a Data Center RMA / Inventory Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of hardware assets in a fast‑growing environment. You will ensure accurate inventory, coordinate repairs, and support procurement to keep the data center running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a precise inventory of critical spares such as SFPs, fiber jumpers, hard drives, RAM, power cables and tools.
- Keep the DCIM and ERP databases up‑to‑date in real time as assets move between “Ready for Use” and other states.
- Lead weekly and monthly physical audits of the inventory cage and data‑center floor to achieve 100 % asset accuracy.
- Monitor stock “par levels” and alert the Data Center Manager when reorder points are reached.
- Initiate and track RMAs with vendors (Dell, HPE, Cisco, Arista) and manage defective media handling in line with NIST 800‑88 standards.
- Oversee loading‑dock operations, including unboxing, palletizing and coordinating with carriers for outbound repairs.
- Serve as the primary liaison for third‑party vendor technicians, scheduling visits and ensuring access.
- Escort technicians on the floor, enforce safety and clean‑room protocols, and verify that repairs meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with data‑center technicians to identify hardware failure trends and process DOA equipment promptly.
- Perform basic health‑checks on returned or refurbished gear before returning it to stock.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, logistics or warehouse operations, preferably in a high‑tech or data‑center setting.
- Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and RMA workflows.
- Ability to identify IT components such as CPUs, DIMMs, SFP types and fiber connectors.
