Data Analyst – Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science

About the role

The University of Iowa seeks a Data Analyst to clean, maintain, analyze, and publish national data collected from physical therapy and rehabilitation science assessments. The role supports over 150 academic healthcare training institutions by developing benchmarks and annual reports.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and analyze incoming national data from PT‑GQ, PTA‑GQ, and CPI instruments.
• Integrate artificial‑intelligence algorithms to forecast educational trends.
• Produce annual reports with graphics for each participating institution.
• Develop and update national educational benchmarks and embed them in reports.
• Manage and upgrade the PT‑GQ web portal for data upload and report delivery.
• Maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
• Perform additional data‑analysis tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least one year of experience with a multi‑centered academic educational database.
• Experience with the PT‑GQ benchmarking system is preferred.
• Advanced degree (PhD) in Data Science with publications in educational research is a plus.
• Ability to automate large‑scale data processes.
