Dairy Frozen Grocery Team Leader

About the role

Meijer is looking for a Dairy Frozen Grocery Team Leader in Canton. The leader plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of the dairy and frozen grocery departments, acts as mentor and coach, and drives customer service, sales and store appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and team members, and spend most of the time in the store
• Staff, select and hire to meet staffing needs, and promote succession planning with career paths and promotion accountability
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge where needed
• Own the P&L, achieve sales targets and maintain shrink for the department
• Mentor and coach the team so that customer service and sales goals are exceeded and the area meets Meijer standards
• Ensure the team is fully trained and has completed all required training
• Promote a safe work environment and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational experience in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli, plus customer service and product flow experience, is helpful
• Reliable and consistent attendance
