Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

MetTel is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Corporate IT team in New York. The role combines building enterprise‑grade security platforms with day‑to‑day operation, detection, and response. You will work on both blue‑team activities and, when needed, support red‑team initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement enterprise security platforms on‑prem and in the cloud (CyberArk PAS, Splunk Enterprise/ES, Tenable, SOAR, OKTA/SAML) with capacity planning, redundancy and role‑based access control.
• Install and configure dual‑datacenter active/active deployments, integrate with Active Directory and other applications.
• Develop and maintain custom dashboards, correlation rules, detection logic and automated SOAR playbooks.
• Perform incident response, threat hunting and triage using the platforms you built.
• Support compliance initiatives (SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST 800‑53) by providing audit trails and reporting.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience securing enterprise environments, both building and operating security platforms.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration skills.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with cloud security services (AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center).
