Customer Service Associate

About the role

The Customer Service Associate ensures a smooth, courteous checkout experience for shoppers, fostering confidence and loyalty. Working at the front end of a grocery store, you will handle transactions, maintain the checkout lane, and support overall store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for customers and resolve issues promptly.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, processing cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and other payment types.
• Stock and organize front‑end products, manage lane standards, and assist in training new cashiers.
• Coordinate daily cash handling, accounting functions, and self‑checkout lane maintenance.
• Troubleshoot front‑end equipment and liaise with the retail service help desk as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food‑handling, USDA, and regulatory standards, including product recalls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and transaction processing.

• Basic troubleshooting of retail checkout equipment.
