Customer Quality Specialist

About the role

ABB is hiring a Customer Quality Specialist in Mebane, NC, reporting to the Production Development Manager. The role is onsite and focuses on supporting the deployment of a quality strategy for a local organizational unit, covering quality culture, systems, tools and teams, so that customer expectations are exceeded and operations remain sustainable.

Key responsibilities

• Define, deploy and support a quality culture locally, using systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations
• Support and maintain the Quality Management System of the local unit in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance
• Represent the Voice of the Customer, manage quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions
• Challenge teams with customer experience feedback and coach employees to assess risks and solutions from a customer and stakeholder viewpoint

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Incoterms, customer experience, project execution and supply chain, or an associate degree in engineering plus 4 years, or a high school diploma/GED plus 6 years
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred)
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the US

• Advanced written and verbal communication with colleagues and customers
• Microsoft Office
• Preferred: basic knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports and PPAP
