Customer Care Associate I (USABlueBook) - Waukegan, IL

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a Customer Care Associate I (USABlueBook) in Waukegan, IL, working 10:30am to 7pm. The associate provides customer service by answering inquiries about product selection, services and issues, while knowing 20,000 products and 3 catalogues. The work is done under close supervision, mostly sitting indoors.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer order and quotation requests by telephone, e-mail, letter and fax within department service goals.
• Follow up on orders to make sure customer service expectations are met.
• Research and suggest alternative products, representing products to increase sales where appropriate.
• Use the computerized system for tracking, information gathering and troubleshooting.
• Resolve customer issues, including issuing credit concessions, and refer complex, non-standard problems to the supervisor.

Required profile

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Ability to follow prescribed rules and seek guidance from a supervisor on non-routine matters.
