CT Technologist – Patient Imaging Specialist

About the role

The CT Technologist will produce cross‑sectional images of internal organs and tissues to aid diagnosis. Working primarily on weekends, the role supports multiple sites within the Cleveland Clinic Akron General network.

Key responsibilities

  • Acquire patient chart data, verify study orders, and set up the CT room accordingly.
  • Educate patients on the procedure, operate the CT scanner, administer contrast agents, and position patients for optimal imaging.
  • Maintain technical and clerical aspects of the CT area, ensuring quality assurance and proper documentation.

Required profile

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT (R.T.(R)) in good standing.
  • Certification in Computed Tomography (R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)) within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Required skills

  • Operation of CT equipment and administration of contrast materials.
  • Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
