CT Technologist II

About the role

The CT Technologist II provides high‑quality computed tomography imaging for emergency, inpatient and outpatient patients at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Muhlenberg. The role includes patient interaction, radiation safety, and on‑call support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT scans of designated anatomy, ensuring technical quality and compliance with physician orders.
• Operate CT equipment, injectors, monitors and administer contrast media according to protocol.
• Review images, repeat scans when necessary, and transmit studies to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
• Communicate exam details to patients, address questions, and maintain confidentiality of PHI.
• Notify physicians of adverse reactions or changes in patient condition and complete technical documentation promptly.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or accredited Radiography program graduate; CNMT, RT(CT) certification preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist; ability to care for patients of all ages.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) and state radiology licensure within required timeframes.
• Physical ability to lift 40‑50 lb, stand for long periods and assist with patient transfers.

Required skills

• Operation of CT scanners and related hardware (injectors, monitors).
• Use of advanced CT imaging software and post‑processing applications.
• Administration of contrast media and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Image quality control, PACS workflow and technical note documentation.
