About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to administer anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical and other pain‑producing procedures. The role works under physician supervision in a collaborative environment with residents, fellows, attendings and staff.

Key responsibilities

Documents patient procedures and incidents.
Assesses patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia.
Ensures patient safety and follows accepted anesthesia techniques.
Acts as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co‑workers, patients, and families.

Required profile

Master’s degree from an accredited nurse‑anesthesia program.
License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
Certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Required skills

Computer data‑entry and retrieval of patient information.
Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard use.
