Physical Therapy Assistant – Long Term Acute Care (PRN)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide routine treatment in a Long Term Acute Care setting on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, delivering direct patient care and documenting progress.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Document patient status changes, progress notes, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with Ochsner policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in staff and committee projects and achieve productivity targets set by administration.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Louisiana Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Computer data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard use.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
