Critical Response Dispatcher

About the role

The Critical Response Dispatcher supports emergency response teams by managing both emergency and non‑emergency dispatches. Working on rotating 12‑hour shifts, the dispatcher triages requests, gathers patient and incident information, and uses computer‑aided dispatch systems to coordinate the appropriate medical resources.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and prioritize all transport or patient‑care requests.
• Operate the computer‑aided dispatch system, entering call details and dispatching units.
• Monitor team status and resource availability through multiple tracking systems.
• Process code and medical emergency activations from clinical teams.
• Collaborate with the CCT RN Clinical coordinator and participate in quality‑assurance and training initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited EMT or EMD program with current Ohio certification.
• Minimum three years experience as an EMT or EMD, preferably in a 911 or dispatch setting.
• Ability to sit for long periods, maintain full range of motion, and have corrected vision and hearing.

Required skills

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification.
• Proficiency with computer‑aided dispatch software.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
