Critical Care RN – In-House Agency Plus (13‑week PRN)

About the role

The In-House Agency Plus Program at UAMS hires Registered Nurses on a 13‑week PRN basis to provide critical care staffing across multiple campus locations. Participants work 36 hours per week and receive a competitive hourly rate with weekend differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in critical care, surgical trauma, and oncology units as assigned.
• Coordinate patient transitions, triage admissions, and collaborate with physicians, fellows, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Adapt to varying shifts, locations, and weekend schedules throughout the agreement period.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN, or MSN) with a valid RN license.
• At least 12 months of recent acute‑care RN experience, including a minimum of 6 months in direct patient care.
• Specialty experience in critical care or surgical trauma and a pre‑screening score of 80% or higher.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and no current employment with UAMS (or separation ≥180 days for former employees).

Required skills

• Proficiency in using personal protective equipment such as N95 masks, PAPR or CAPR.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Chemotherapy certification (when assigned to oncology units).
