Court Liaison – Youth Justice Advocate

About the role

Exalt Youth is expanding its youth justice program in Syracuse, NY and seeks a Court Liaison to serve as the primary connection between the organization and the New York State Unified Court System. The role involves assessing, advocating for, and supporting young participants who have active legal cases, ensuring they receive the program’s services while keeping the courts informed of their progress.

Key responsibilities

• Identify eligible youth and refer them to Exalt’s program in collaboration with court personnel.
• Coordinate with defense counsel to explore alternative‑to‑incarceration options.
• Advocate in court for participant placement and continued program involvement.
• Prepare and present written and verbal reports on attendance, engagement, and progress.
• Work with Exalt staff to support participants’ Individualized Personal Plans.
• Maintain accurate records of court proceedings and case information in the organization’s database.
• Educate court stakeholders about Exalt’s services and impact.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and court staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
