Cost Accountant / Analyst – Manufacturing

About the role

The manufacturing organization in Southwest Louisiana is looking for a Cost Accountant/Analyst to support plant accounting, product costing, inventory control, budgeting and monthly operational reporting. The role works closely with both plant and corporate teams to analyse manufacturing costs, maintain accurate inventory records and strengthen financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing cost and variance analysis and develop standard costs for finished goods, semi‑finished goods and raw materials.
• Manage inventory reconciliation, cycle counts and the annual physical inventory.
• Prepare month‑end journal entries, account reconciliations and operational financial reports.
• Develop and maintain annual cost budgets and accounting‑system assumptions.
• Review plant expenditures, capital approval requests and support internal‑control improvements.
• Provide SAP accounting support to plant personnel and administer purchasing cards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP accounting modules.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

What we offer

• Base salary range $78,000 – $94,000 per year, plus performance‑based bonus.
