Cosmetology Adjunct Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through West Georgia Technical College, seeks a qualified Cosmetology Adjunct Instructor to teach credit courses in a classroom, lab, or field setting. This part‑time position supports student learning and aligns instruction with current industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, standardized syllabi, and course materials for cosmetology courses.
• Deliver theory and practical instruction in a simulated industry environment.
• Assess student progress against established grading criteria and measure learning outcomes.
• Participate in required professional development and training for classroom or online delivery.

Required profile

• Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited institution or equivalent.
• At least three years of recent field experience (3 of the past 7 years).
• Current Georgia Master Cosmetologist License issued by the State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Strong computer proficiency for course preparation and student assessment.
• Effective communication skills for diverse student populations.

What we offer

• Compensation of $27.00 per contact hour.
• Part‑time, temporary adjunct position with flexible morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.
