Core Systems Automation Engineer

About the role

Intermedia is seeking a Core Systems Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain automated infrastructure solutions in a highly available production environment. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, reliability and monitoring through scripting, automation and modern infrastructure practices, supporting a global remote team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automation solutions for infrastructure and operations.
• Create and modify scripts using Python, PowerShell and Ansible.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code principles for system configuration and deployment.
• Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting platforms such as Grafana and Zabbix.
• Integrate systems via APIs (REST, JSON, YAML).
• Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Troubleshoot complex system and performance issues in production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on infrastructure projects.
• Maintain source control with Git and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Document systems, processes and automation workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Grafana, Zabbix or similar monitoring tools.
• Experience creating dashboards, alerts and monitoring checks.
• Understanding of system metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network, services, logs).
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with APIs, REST, JSON, YAML and system integration concepts.
• Experience with Git or other source‑control tools.
• Proven ability to support production infrastructure environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
