Coordinator of Academic Area 3 (Computer Science)

About the role

The Coordinator of Academic Area 3 supports the Graduate Program in the Division of Computer Science and Engineering at LSU. The role serves as the primary point of contact for graduate students, faculty, and staff, handling day‑to‑day academic and administrative operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage graduate admissions, maintain the admissions database, counsel students on milestones, and coordinate dissertation proposals and defenses.
• Prepare and process personnel forms, offer letters, teaching assignments, evaluations, and funding offers; manage graduate assistant payroll and accounting.
• Oversee course scheduling, TA assignments, and graduate student travel forms; plan orientations, research seminars, industry visits, and other events.
• Handle student enrollment, collect statistical data for assessment, create program communications, and maintain web content and forms.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with academic systems and student engagement is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of graduate program administration, admissions processes, and student payroll systems.
• Ability to coordinate events, manage data, and communicate effectively with faculty and students.
