Cooler Operator - D Shift (Night)

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Cooler Operator for its D shift (night) at a 24/7 manufacturing facility. The role covers the safe loading and unloading of finished goods according to customer orders, inventory control and the operation of material handling equipment. It is a hands-on position with a 12-hour rotating schedule (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, typically Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday) and a night-shift premium of $1.50 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload finished goods and trailers safely and efficiently, following customer specifications and FIFO inventory practices.
• Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks and battery-powered equipment in line with OSHA Powered Industrial Truck requirements.
• Run automated warehouse management software, inventory scanning and stretch-wrapping/palletizing equipment (if applicable).
• Perform pre- and post-load trailer inspections and complete shipping and receiving records.
• Follow SOPs, GMP and food safety requirements, support audits, and comply with dairy food regulations.
• Work in a team, cross-train with other departments and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of demonstrated lift truck experience and ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck certification.
• Warehouse shipping/receiving experience; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance, and to work in a noisy, variable-temperature manufacturing environment.
• Good attendance and willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.

Required skills

• Strong math skills.
• Good computer software skills; SAP is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

What we offer

• Pay range of $23.00 to $23.15, plus a $1.50 per hour night-shift premium.
• Compressed workweek with alternating 3-day and 4-day weeks.
