About the role
The Cook prepares food items according to recipes and standards, ensuring high quality cuisine while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment at Hilton Garden Inn Chicagoland.
Key responsibilities
- Follow recipes to prepare food items, including washing, peeling, and cutting fruits, vegetables, and meats.
- Prepare appetizers, salads, cold dishes, and bake breads, rolls, or other baked goods.
- Cook meats, fish, vegetables by baking, roasting, broiling, or steaming.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food for service or guest delivery.
- Maintain clean and sanitized work areas, secure and store food properly.
- Follow safe food handling procedures and sustainability practices.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment, and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Required profile
- High School diploma preferred.
- Previous culinary experience or equivalent training required.
- Department of Health Sanitation certificate may be required.
