About the role

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a qualified attorney to serve as Cook County Regional Counsel. This position represents the department in Juvenile Court hearings and contributes to child welfare case decisions.

Key responsibilities

Represent the department at hearings in the Juvenile Court of Cook County, including custody, adjudication, disposition, permanency, and termination of parental rights.
Conduct screenings and provide legal input to determine case suitability for court presentation.
Appear personally in high‑profile or complex cases and assist with case strategy.
