Controls/Systems Engineer – Maintenance Technologist

About the role

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your curiosity and technical expertise within a global innovation leader. As a Controls/Systems Engineer you will support maintenance, process and production teams while driving improvements to legacy control platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily technical assistance to maintenance, process and production teams in diagnosing, troubleshooting and determining root‑cause failures.
• Develop and implement strategies to maintain, upgrade or replace legacy control platforms.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to recommend, initiate and complete control‑system improvement projects.
• Deliver control‑system theory and programming training to maintenance craftsmen, technologists and engineers.
• Support corporate, division and plant engineering groups with planning and installation of capital projects.
• Ensure accuracy of plant electrical documentation, including elementary drawings, process flow diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Provide on‑call coverage and work flexible shifts as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical, Automation, Controls or a related technology program (completed prior to start).
• At least three years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to be on‑call and travel up to 10 % domestically.

Required skills

• PLC programming and control‑system experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Knowledge of packing robots and automated production lines.
• Understanding of control‑system theory and programming.
