Controls Technician

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair down equipment and electrical problems on CNC mills, lathes, shapers and forge press controls
• Analyze and resolve machine and conveyor problems, and establish or adjust work processes to meet production schedules
• Resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Assist with project-related design, installation and commissioning of controls systems
• Research parts as needed and work with Engineering on process improvements
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Required skills

• Navigate ladder logic on Allen Bradley and Siemens systems
• Work with 24 DC to 480 volts AC
• Use test equipment such as multimeter, megger, phase rotation meter and oscilloscope
• Read blueprints and schematics
• Familiarity with Fanuc or Nachi robots for recovery, point adjustment and program changes
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and equipment
• Ability to learn Keyence laser software and 2D barcode software for adjustments
• Able to drive a forklift, scissor lift and articulating arm boom truck
