Controls Engineer – Power Generation

About the role

We are looking for a Controls Engineer with solid experience in power generation and industrial automation to support engineering, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of generator and electrical control systems. The role combines office‑based design work with occasional on‑site field service.

Key responsibilities

• Review project requirements, technical scopes and customer specifications to ensure successful execution of power generation projects.
• Develop and review electrical drawings, control panel layouts, junction box designs and related documentation.
• Program, configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, generator controllers, relays and synchronization systems.
• Support fabrication by releasing bills of materials and addressing technical questions during manufacturing.
• Assist with commissioning, startup, testing and operational support for generator packages and electrical systems in the field.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support, perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and corrective actions on power generation equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with power generation systems, industrial controls or medium‑voltage electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors and generator controls.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams and P&IDs.
• Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
