Controller – HVAC Industry

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to lead the financial function of our rapidly growing HVAC company. The role involves overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare and publish monthly financial statements and coordinate regulatory reporting.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts, reporting variances.
• Oversee cash flow management, cash forecasting, and job costing.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes and ensure quality control over all financial transactions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, document accounting policies, and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team, providing leadership and performance management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of senior accounting experience, preferably in construction or HVAC environments.
• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proven ability to lead an accounting department and manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on financial benefit.
