Automotive Controller

About the role

The Automotive Controller will serve as a trusted financial leader for a growing Houston‑based automotive group. Reporting directly to ownership and executive leadership, you will oversee all financial activities of the automotive division, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the automotive division.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, sub‑ledgers, and all related financial reports.
• Design, implement, and monitor robust financial controls to meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper accounting for all transactions.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering timely and accurate results.
• Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with external auditors and oversee the audit process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance and ledger management within an automotive or similar multi‑unit environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce financial controls and compliance procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to senior leadership.
• Leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
