Collection Team Manager

About the role

The Collection Team Manager leads a group of collectors who recover overdue automobile loan payments. This position ensures timely, professional resolution of delinquent accounts while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the collection team, including the use of auto‑dialer strategies to boost recovery rates.
• Define work processes, schedule tasks, and optimize workflow for efficiency.
• Assess accounts flagged for potential repossession or legal action, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance on complex cases and suggest effective collection tactics.
• Deliver clear written and verbal instructions, inspect work outputs for accuracy, and enforce company policies.
• Foster team cohesion, resolve conflicts, and mediate disputes.
• Evaluate performance reports, give constructive feedback, and support professional growth.
• Ensure adherence to the Collection Standards of Conduct policy and protect sensitive consumer information.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• At least 3 years of collections experience, preferably in automobile financing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and residence within a commutable distance to Houston, TX.
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related state/federal laws.
• Experience with skip tracing is preferred.
