Controller – Finance Leader for Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a growing oil and gas business in Miami. The role will shape the financial foundation and prepare the company for a potential Nasdaq listing.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, month‑end close, financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing finance and accounting team.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports for executive decision‑making and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with leadership on public‑company readiness, Nasdaq listing processes and control frameworks.
• Design and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and governance practices.
• Oversee system implementations and coordinate with auditors and external advisors.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting and performance metrics to support strategic planning.

Required profile

• Prior Controller experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Proven ability to build and manage finance teams.
• Experience with public‑company preparation or capital‑markets activities is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
