Contractor Sales Representative

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a Canadian-owned manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is looking for a Contractor Sales Representative for its IKO Metals business covering the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas market. The role suits a new graduate or junior salesperson, with senior sales staff committed to training the hire so they can move into a Territory Sales position within two years.

Key responsibilities

• Support sales daily across the territory and grow sales and market share by generating pull-through demand with contractors, builders and architects
• Develop new and existing contractor and builder relationships and increase IKO specifications with architects, project managers and consultants
• Organize and execute a business plan meeting territory goals, and become an expert in IKO Metals products and programs
• Present products, run product demonstrations and education sessions, and follow up on sales leads
• Spend 90% of time calling on contractors, builders and architects, working with outside sales reps, local TSR and DSM, and communicating sales and pricing data

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Management or Marketing preferred
• Previous experience in the building products industry and/or in B2B sales or sales coordination
• Good judgment, initiative, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; self-starter who works collaboratively
• Good driving record, flexible hours including nights and weekends, and willingness to relocate

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Data analysis techniques and technologies
