Contract Registered Nurse

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time contract registered nurse in Ocala, Florida, working day shifts. The role suits nurses who want flexible contract assignments, possibly at one facility or floating between hospitals in 9 states, with the option to convert to permanent staff. Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect and document patient health data
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer, and take part in peer review
• Advocate for patients, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use
• Participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• High-level abstract reasoning and basic computer skills with Microsoft Windows programs
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) preferred; additional licensure may depend on unit or state

• Premium pay rate of $15-$130, with rates of $59/hr for Med/Surg, $65/hr for ER, PCU and ICU
