Construction Superintendent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects throughout the Chicago area. The role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards while serving as the on‑site leader working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site construction activities from ground‑up through closeout.
• Manage daily field operations, subcontractors, and site logistics.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using look‑ahead planning.
• Ensure work complies with OSHA safety standards.
• Conduct site meetings, coordinate trades, and resolve field issues in real time.
• Monitor quality control and enforce adherence to plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on budgets, timelines, and change orders.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and site documentation.
• Enforce jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience with ground‑up and/or interior build‑out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proven leadership managing subcontractors and field teams.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Procore or similar construction management software.
